Fantastic Day

"Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are.
Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart.
Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfet tomorrow."
-Mary Jean Iron-

Today was fantastic.... nothing overly exciting happend... but, it was fantastic! Tim was here and we just lounged, and talked and laughed. We just wandered through Wal-Mart laughing at the old movies in the $5 bin. And I had SO much fun! *sigh* I'm so sappy these days.... it's just not like me! ;o)

"Most people are searching for happiness. They're looking for it. They're trying to find it in someone or something outside of themselves. That's a fundamental mistake. Happiness is something that you are, and it comes from the way you think."
-Wayne Dyer-

Amen, Wayne..... Amen....

SPRING BREAK IS HERE! WHOO HOO!

Life's a Roller Coaster

"Talking about music is like talking about sex. Can you describe it? Are you supposed to?"
-Bruce Springsteen

I like that quote a lot....

I went to a good 'ole middle school baseball game tonight. We won. Go boys! :o)

I think my cats have serious mental issues. Whenever anyone goes to the restroom, they run and sit right outside the door. Then, when the door opens, they run away like they're embarassed that they were sitting there listening to you pee. It's strange...

Two days 'till spring break!

Happy Birthday, David! :o)

Surprise!

Let's set the scene....

It's sunday morning... my lazy butt woke up to late to go to church. So, I decided to watch one of the local services on TV. (Mable White Baptist) I turn the TV on and I'm shocked! I mean absolutely SHOCKED at what I see going on at this church!

There... on the TV screen... is an upclose view of a bassoon player playing "I Surrender All". Whoa!

How often do you see that? (For non-music people... not many!!) Yay for Mable White being open to non-conventional church music! (My future sister-in-law is a bassoon player.... so, double yay!)

The musician looked awfully familiar... maybe she was the bassoon professor at GC&SU... Hmm...

alone

Sometimes living alone sucks..... it just really, REALLY sucks...... *sigh*

On a much happier note - 6th grade/District Jazz Honor Band was today.... my students did SO well! I think that this is as close to feeling like a parent as I want to be for a LONG time. ;o) But, I'm always SO proud when I see them doing well. (And, doing well at something that I taught them, to boot!) I just grinned through their whole concert. (Even though it was a typical squeaky-sqwaky 6th grade performance.) And, the district jazz group played one of my favorite old Basie favorites - Lil' Darlin.... I love that song! (Dr. Bob always told me that Basie could make silence swing - that song proves it!)

Is it sad that it's only 9pm, and I'm considering going to bed? It is sad - but it's been a long day.... Wish Tim was here.

WHY

Why..... why is it that when I'm having a great day at school - one student can always ruin it for me? Why does that one little smart-ass and his little smart-ass comments bother me so much? "Just let it go...." "Let it roll off your back..." MUCH easier said than done. "Don't smack the little kid across his little peanut head." MUCH easier said than done..... *sigh* If I had EVER had the nerve to say the things that students say these days, I would STILL have problems sitting down due to the immense butt-beating that I would have recieved when I got home. Now, I know that to the generations older than me, my generation seemed disrespectful and lazy. But - let me tell you! We are NOTHING compared to what's coming up now..... When does the downward spiral end? What can I do to help?!?

9 days 'till spring break.......

Spring

10 days 'till spring break.... 3:50pm on March 24th begins a week of relaxation....

Who am I kidding?!? I've got so much stuff to catch up on! *sigh*

On a more interesting note... I have mastered the art of Chicken Cordon Bleu.... yummy!

8th Grade Science

You Passed 8th Grade Science

Congratulations, you got 8/8 correct!

Well, that makes me feel good about myself, I guess.... at least I know now that all of those hours I spent studying and not partying in school paid off because I don't know what I would have done if I couldn't remember what the function of a nucleus was! *sigh*

Yeah... so, the picture's blurry.... DEAL WITH IT! ;o)

I had a nice weekend.... I spent Saturday in Covington with Tim and my family. Then, today Tim and I just bummed around Macon. It was great. We walked for almost an hour and half through down-town just looking around, then I spent WAY too much money at Barnes and Noble. I just can't say no to the bargain books!

School in the morning. UCK..... I'm not digging the idea of waking up to the alarm after a few days of waking gently on my own. Well, I'm off to watch the Academy Awards... 'night!
