Walkin' a Lap with Mom
Tonight is "Relay for Life" in Newton County. When I was in high school, my mother fought breast cancer. (Now a 6 year survior!!) I had the honor of walking with my mother in the survior's lap of the Relay. She walked between Dad and me - holding our hands and smiling. Wow.... God has truly blessed me by allowing her to still be a part of my life. I love you, Mom!
On a MUCH lighter note, Tim's package finally arrived yesterday. Maybe FedEx doesn't suck it up as much as I previously thought - but, the package was still 6 days late!! Oh well - it's here now. Holla!

Your company sucks at the checking of the bags!
FedEx sucks it up right now... I ordered Tim's graduation gift weeks ago so that it would be here for his graduation. Is it here? No! Am I frusterated?!? YES!!! I'm sick of talking to customer service people. I would rather just drive to Canada and pick the darn thing up!!!!! Oh well... It'll get figured out.
The spring concert is over. HALLELUJAH! It wasn't our strongest performance ever, but it was acceptable... and over! (Over is the best part!!) Now, if we can survive 8th grade "graduation" I'll be good to go! 17 days of school left!!

Honor Band
I just got back from our District's 6th Grade Honor Band. I had 5 students participating. I don't think I've ever been so proud! I mean, these are my babies! I taught them how to put their instruments together. Yay for them!

So What....
21 days 'till the school year is over.... Can I make it that long? I dunno. The concert is Monday. I'm stressed - the students don't seem to care anything about their performance... what's a gal to do? I'll be glad when it's over. VERY glad.

Roommate Reminiscing
Something happened Friday that completely cracked me up! Tim and I were sitting on the sofa and wanted to watch some television, but we couldn't find the remote. He stuck his hand between the cushions, screamed... jerked his hand out and something went flying across the room. So, obviously when he screamed, I screamed. Quite hilarious! Well - we searched the living room to find the unidentified flying object, only to find that it was a cat nip mouse from when I lived with Kelli and the crazy kitty, Ella, who had to be (excuse the crude phrase) the world's horniest cat! So, I've spent the weekend remembering fun times with Kelli, Johnathan, Jessica and the crazy cat. I remember them and John's sister, Meghan, helping me plan my first "date" with Tim... picking out scary movies so I'd have an excuse to cuddle up with him. Ahh... fun times. Jessica helped me iron my clothes, Kelli helped me pick out the movie. I think Johnathan ordered the pizza. Ella picked the most frightening moments in the movie to jump on our laps and scare the bejesus out of us. Meghan just grinned at us everytime I slipped a little closer. I can't believe that It's been almost two years since I moved out of that apartment. Wow. I miss those folks.

This is What the Sun Tastes Like
I just saw the world's most freakin' hilarious Sonic commercial!
Guy 1: This is what the sun tastes like. I'd like to go into space, scoop up a cup of the sun and taste it.
Guy 2: I hope I'm there to see you do it.
Guy 1: It would be fun to go into space.
Guy 2: It would be fun to watch your face melt off.
(That may not be exact - but you catch the drift.) I mean, what the crap?!? I'm sitting alone in my living room and I just laughed out loud!!
Anyway - today was an okay day at school. Nothin' terribly exciting.

HOLLYWOOD OF THE SOUTH
There have been quite a few movies/tv shows filmed in my hometown of Covington, Georgia. It's a small town about an hour from Atlanta. Anyway - I got curious yesterday about how many things have actually been filmed there. I compiled a list.
-In the Heat of the Night (they actually filmed an episode of this in my Dad's store!)
-Dukes of Hazard (you know that car jumpin' scene in the opening credits? Yeah - that's Covington! WHOO HOO!)
-Friday the 13th Part VI
-Remember the Titans (the car crash scene was filmed on our City Square)
-Miss Evers Boys (made for HBO)
-Past the Bleachers (made for Hallmark)
That's all I could find for now... Hmmm... Interesting.

I drive a yellow car
There is SOOOOO much pollen! I walked outside this morning and my poor car was covered! Uck! The first day back at school from Spring Break wasn't too painful... The kids weren't too rowdy, and I was only mentally asleep for half of the day. I just realized that I only have 34 days of school left in my first year of teaching. I've almost survived! YAY! I just got a graduation announcement in the mail from Michelle - You're awesome! Congrats!
